Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification required by state where employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens.
• Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label accordingly.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples at required temperatures.
• Adhere to OSHA/DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
• Answer calls and read lab results to resolve inquiries.
