Job summary

Top Dog Recruiting seeks a Phlebotomist for a float contract covering Castleton, Delmar, Catskill, Schenectady, Cobleskill, Latham, Amsterdam, Valatie, Albany, and Guilderland. Work M-F with early start as 6:30am and end as late as 5:30pm; shifts up to 8 hours.

Projected duration is 3 months with potential for permanent placement. Requires 2 years phlebotomy experience and valid state certification. Benefits are available and salary will be discussed during interviewing.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and related duties including labeling specimens, centrifuging, and recording maintenance data.
• Collect and store specimens per established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate phlebotomy techniques and ensure orders match specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, and package specimens as required by test orders.
• Store specimens at required temperatures and transport per protocol.
• Attend department trainings and comply with OSHA/DEP regulations.
• Answer inquiries and communicate results to appropriate personnel.
