Job summary

KOB Solutions, Inc. seeks a Phlebotomist for a floating contract position covering Castleton, Delmar, Catskill, Schenectady, Cobleskill, Latham, Amsterdam, Valatie, Albany and Guilderland, NY. Schedule is Monday–Friday with early start and late finish possibilities; duration initial 3 months with potential for extension.

The role requires a valid phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. Benefits are available.

Qualifications

• 2 years of phlebotomy experience required.
• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where employed is required in some states.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains the venipuncture process and other specimen collection procedures to patients.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper storage conditions.
• Attend annual department trainings and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Answer telephone calls and relay results as needed.
