Job summary

Top Dog Recruiting seeks a Phlebotomist for a contract assignment with potential for permanent placement. The float position covers Castleton, Delmar, Catskill, Schenectady, Cobleskill, Latham, Amsterdam, Valatie, Albany, and Guilderland.

The role requires 2 years of phlebotomy experience, valid phlebotomy certification, and a Monday–Friday schedule starting as early as 6:30am and ending by 5:30pm. Benefits are available and MS Office proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients and other staff.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and butterfly needles while following physician orders.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper storage conditions.
