Job summary

Acloché LLC in New York is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. The float position covers Castleton, Delmar, Catskill, Schenectady, Cobleskill, Latham, Amsterdam, Valatie, Albany, and Guilderland.

Schedule is Monday–Friday with shifts starting as early as 6:30 am and ending as late as 5:30 pm (8 hours). Requires 2 years of phlebotomy experience, valid state phlebotomy certification, proficiency with Microsoft Office; High School Diploma or GED.

• 2 years of phlebotomy experience required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the venipuncture process and other specimen collection as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and butterfly needles; follow physicians orders; match requisition forms to tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for accuracy; package specimens for transport.
• Store specimen samples according to temperature requirements; label and transport per protocol.
