Job summary

ASHFORD CONNEX, LLC seeks a Phlebotomist for a float position in the San Antonio area. The role covers locations within a 10-15 mile radius, with Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–5:30 PM shifts. The engagement is contract-based for about 3 months, with potential for permanent placement.

Responsibilities include blood draws, labeling, centrifuging, and proper specimen handling while adhering to OSHA/DEP regulations. Benefits are available for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification required by state where employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Package specimens for transport and store according to required temperatures.
