Meritas Advisory Group, LLC in the Albany region of New York is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role with potential for permanent placement. The position covers multiple locations: Castleton, Delmar, Catskill, Schenectady, Cobleskill, Latham, Amsterdam, Valatie, Albany, Guilderland, with shifts that may start as early as 6:30am and end around 5:30pm.

The role requires 2 years of phlebotomy experience and a valid state phlebotomy certification.

Formación

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsabilidades

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture processes clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles; match requisitions to specimens.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check test requisitions against scripts to ensure accuracy; package specimens for transport.
• Store specimen samples per required temperatures and transport protocols.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual trainings.
• Answer phone inquiries and relay laboratory results as needed.
