Job summary

The role requires strict adherence to procedures and patient communication during venipuncture. The ideal candidate holds an active phlebotomy certification, at least six months of venipuncture experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously if required.
• Demonstrates technique with straight and butterfly needles.
• Understands physicians' orders and matches requisition forms to specimens.
• Packages specimens for transport and preserves sample integrity.
