Accounting Search in Greenwich, CT seeks a contract Phlebotomist for an initial 3-month assignment with potential for permanent placement. Responsibilities include performing blood draws, specimen handling, and accurate data entry while following regulatory guidelines.

Minimum qualifications include a phlebotomy certification and at least 12 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. The position requires availability Monday–Friday with possible Saturday rotation.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certificate as required in state of employment.
• At least 12 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging, and recording maintenance data.
• Collect and store specimens per established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique with needles as required.
• Understand physicians' orders and match requisitions to samples.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens per test orders.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper storage temperatures.
• Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual trainings.
• Answer inquiries and read lab results as needed.
