Your Talent Team in Fairbanks, AK is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent employment. The role includes blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, data entry, and maintaining specimen integrity per procedure.

Must hold a valid phlebotomy certification and have prior venipuncture experience; familiarity with OSHA/DEP regulations is required. Benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Minimum 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws
• Label specimens
• Centrifuging specimens
• Recording maintenance data and decontamination
• Updating patient information
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required
• Package specimens for transport
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations
• Attend annual department trainings
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries
