Job summary

Pacific Staffing seeks two Payroll Specialists for a temporary, high-volume payroll project in California. Must have immediate availability and a flexible schedule, with shifts at 6:00 AM or 2:00 PM, for up to 2 months.

Responsibilities include processing payroll for a large staff, auditing data, generating reports, and coordinating with HR and Finance. Requirements: 3+ years of high-volume payroll experience, advanced Excel, and experience with payroll systems (Heartland preferred).

Qualifications

• 3+ years of high-volume payroll processing experience.
• Advanced payroll systems experience required.
• Experience with Heartland Payroll strongly preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including reporting, formulas, and data analysis.
• Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
• Must be available to start and commit to the project for up to 2 months minimum.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and timely for a large employee population.
• Audit payroll data and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and payroll-related inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with payroll policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Partner with HR and Finance teams to support payroll operations and project deliverables.
• Support payroll system updates, testing, and process improvement initiatives as needed.
