Job summary

Propio Language Services seeks onsite contract interpreters in the Houston, TX region. The role focuses on accurate consecutive interpretation between English and all spoken languages, with remote interpretation options when needed.

You will follow client protocols and maintain strict confidentiality across assignments. Requirements include 18+, English and language proficiency, and at least 1 year of interpreting experience; background checks and health/vaccination requirements may apply

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Professional proficiency in English and All Spoken Language.
• Ability to provide consecutive interpretation.
• Successful completion of language and interpreting proficiency evaluations.
• Résumé in English required.
• High school diploma or equivalent education/experience.
• Basic computer and technology proficiency.
• Ability to travel to onsite assignments.
• Immunization requirements may apply as per client/location.
• Background, security, fingerprinting, and/or drug screening may be required.
• Confidentiality, privacy, and ethics requirements must be followed.
• One or more years of professional interpreting experience.
• Experience in medical, legal, community, educational, or social-services interpreting.
• Interpreting credentials or certifications relevant to assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and professional consecutive interpretation between English and All Spoken Language during onsite assignments.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable.
• Follow interpreter protocols, professional standards, and client requirements.
• Comply with Propio and client confidentiality, privacy, security, and assignment protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA, and client privacy rules.
• Interact professionally with clients, patients, healthcare professionals, and other participants.
• Maintain language proficiency and subject-matter knowledge for assignments.
