Job summary

Emily Wachter Early Intervention Services is seeking a Hearing Teacher (Early Intervention) to provide direct educational and developmental support to infants and young children with hearing differences.

This on-site contract role operates in the NW corner of PA, focusing on designing individualized lessons, delivering small group instruction, and collaborating with families and related professionals to promote language and listening skills.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with experience supporting young children in early intervention or special education settings.
• Demonstrated skills in Lesson Planning and Training, including the ability to design and adapt individualized instructional activities.
• Effective Communication skills for collaborating with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams, and for explaining strategies clearly.
• Relevant certification or licensure as a teacher of the deaf/hard of hearing or closely related qualification, per state requirements.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and hearing technologies (hearing aids, cochlear implants), and evidence-based approaches to language development.
• Ability to work on-site and virtually, maintain accurate documentation, and uphold ethical and professional standards in a family-centered environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement individualized lesson plans for infants and young children with hearing differences.
• Deliver one-on-one and small group instruction in an on-site setting.
• Collaborate with families, caregivers, and related service providers to model effective techniques.
• Document progress and participate in interdisciplinary meetings while maintaining compliance with guidelines.
