This on-site contract role operates in the NW corner of PA, focusing on designing individualized lessons, delivering small group instruction, and collaborating with families and related professionals to promote language and listening skills.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with experience supporting young children in early intervention or special education settings.
• Demonstrated skills in Lesson Planning and Training, including the ability to design and adapt individualized instructional activities.
• Effective Communication skills for collaborating with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams, and for explaining strategies clearly.
• Relevant certification or licensure as a teacher of the deaf/hard of hearing or closely related qualification, per state requirements.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and hearing technologies (hearing aids, cochlear implants), and evidence-based approaches to language development.
• Ability to work on-site and virtually, maintain accurate documentation, and uphold ethical and professional standards in a family-centered environment.

Role Description

The Hearing Teacher (Early Intervention) will provide direct educational and developmental support to infants and young children with hearing differences in an on-site setting in the NW corner of PA. This contract role includes designing and implementing individualized lesson plans, delivering one-on-one and small group instruction, and using specialized strategies to support language, communication, and listening skills. The Hearing Teacher will collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and related service providers to model effective techniques and ensure consistency across home and program environments. Daily responsibilities also involve documenting progress, participating in interdisciplinary meetings, and maintaining compliance with early intervention guidelines and organizational policies.
