Job summary

Calculated Hire is seeking a Product Designer for the Mobile App team within a global athletic footwear and apparel retailer. You will shape experiences for high-engagement mobile users, leading native iOS and Android design from concept to launch.

You’ll collaborate with product, engineering, and research, leverage the design system, and ensure accessible, high-quality app features. This 6‑month contract includes weekly pay and benefits, with potential to extend or convert to full-time.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of product design experience with a focus on native mobile apps.
• Strong portfolio featuring shipped iOS and/or Android work.
• Familiarity with Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design; understanding of native vs responsive patterns.
• Proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, variables, and design tokens.
• Awareness of accessibility standards and applying them on mobile.
• Experience designing within and contributing to a design system.
• Curiosity about AI-assisted design workflows and using emerging tools for exploration and handoff.

Responsibilities

• Design native iOS and Android experiences from concept to execution for high-traffic app features.
• Partner with product, engineering, and research to translate user needs into intuitive experiences.
• Design for app-specific moments and capabilities.
• Follow a user-centered, data-driven process from sketches to prototypes.
• Contribute to and align with the design system across app surfaces.
• Build accessible experiences by default across devices, OS versions, and screen sizes.
• Collaborate with mobile engineering to ensure design specs are implemented accurately.
• Own work from discovery through release and communicate status clearly.
• Participate in design critiques to raise quality.
