Position Summary

Vanguard Energy Partners is seeking a Contract Manager to support the execution of utility-scale solar projects, with a primary focus on change order management and contract administration. This newly created role will be based at our headquarters and sit within the Procurement Department, working closely with project management and field teams.

The Contract Manager will be responsible for reviewing, validating, and managing subcontractor and vendor change orders, ensuring alignment with contractual scope, pricing, and project requirements. This role is critical to maintaining cost control, mitigating risk, and ensuring successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Contract & Change Order Management
  • Review, analyze, and process subcontractor and vendor change order requests
  • Validate change orders against contract scope, drawings, specifications, and commercial terms
  • Ensure accurate documentation, pricing, and compliance with contractual requirements
  • Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, and potential cost or schedule impacts
Field & Project Coordination
  • Collaborate with field teams, project managers, and engineers to verify scope changes
  • Support field operations in evaluating and substantiating change order requests
  • Provide contract interpretation and guidance on change management procedures
  • Assist in resolving disputed or unclear change orders
Procurement & Commercial Support
  • Partner with Procurement to ensure consistency between executed contracts and project execution
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and managing subcontract agreements and amendments
  • Maintain change order logs, cost tracking, and approval workflows
  • Support negotiations related to scope changes and claims
  • Identify and escalate contractual risks proactively
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, company policies, and project requirements
  • Contribute to improving contract management processes and best practices
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in contract management, procurement, or project controls within construction, energy, or EPC environments
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, subcontract agreements, and change order processes
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred
  • Experience with utility-scale solar or renewable energy projects
  • Familiarity with EPC project delivery models
  • Experience with contract management and procurement software tools
  • Knowledge of cost control, scheduling impacts, and claims management
