Job summary

Community Options, Inc. is hiring a Contract Licensed Vocational Nurse in Amarillo, TX to deliver nursing care in a community setting under the nursing process. The LVN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, coordinating with health team members while supporting individuals and families.

Starting pay is $23.00 per hour. Employment is contingent upon successful background checks and registries. Valid nursing license and driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nursing field.
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience with individuals with disabilities.
• Valid nursing license.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to calculate figures related to medication dosages.
• Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with an individual receiving supports.
• Ability to effectively present facts and recommendations.
• Employment contingent upon successful completion of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment and health care procedures ordered by a physician and required by standards of practice or law.
• Ensure individuals attend medical appointments per their ISP.
• Advise supervisor of concerns related to nursing services.
• Develop and update ISP/PCP with interdisciplinary team including concerns, observations, and behavioral developments.
• Train employees on the medical needs of assigned individuals.
• Monitor health and medical conditions and refer for medical services as needed.
• Monitor the use of medications through medication administration logs.
• Ensure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timely.
• Build a support network by developing relationships with community members, businesses, and families.
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned.
• Cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation.

We are now hiring a Contract Licensed Vocational Nurse in Amarillo, TX.

The L.V.N. delivers care to individuals in a community setting utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. This person will interact with individuals, significant others, and health team members while maintaining the standards of professional nursing.
