Propio Language Services is seeking onsite contract interpreters in the Hartford, CT area to facilitate accurate interpretation between English and all spoken languages. This independent contractor role requires professional interpretation skills and reliable availability for accepted assignments.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of interpreting experience, complete proficiency evaluations, and be able to travel to assignments.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Professional proficiency in English and All Spoken Languages.
Ability to accurately provide consecutive interpretation between English and All Spoken Languages.
Successful completion of applicable language and interpreting proficiency evaluations.
Submission of a current résumé in English during the application process.
Background, security, fingerprinting and/or drug screening may be required.
One or more years of professional interpreting experience.
Relevant interpreter training, credentials, or certifications.

Responsibilities

Provide accurate and professional consecutive interpretation between English and All Spoken Languages during onsite assignments.
Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable to an accepted assignment.
Follow applicable interpreter protocols, professional standards, and client requirements.
Comply with confidentiality, privacy, security and assignment protocols.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA and client requirements.
Maintain professional interactions with clients, patients, customers and others.
Maintain language proficiency and knowledge for accurate interpretation.
