Job summary

Propio Language Services in Hartford CT is seeking independent contract interpreters fluent in English and multiple languages to provide accurate consecutive interpretation onsite. Remote interpretation by phone or video is also possible for suitable assignments.

Applicants should have professional interpreting experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to travel to assignments. Compliance with client-specific protocols and privacy requirements is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Professional proficiency in English and All Spoken Languages.
• Ability to accurately provide consecutive interpretation between English and All Spoken Languages.
• Successful completion of language and interpreting proficiency evaluations.
• Submission of a current résumé in English during the application process.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education/experience.
• Basic computer and technology proficiency.
• Ability to reliably travel to and from accepted onsite assignments.
• Health and immunization requirements may apply where required by client/site.
• Background checks or drug screening may be required for certain assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and professional consecutive interpretation between English and All Spoken Languages during onsite assignments.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable to an accepted assignment.
• Follow applicable interpreter protocols, professional standards, and client requirements.
• Comply with confidentiality, privacy, and security requirements including HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA.
• Maintain professional interactions with clients, patients, and other participants.
