Job summary

Propio Language Services in Hartford, CT, seeks American Sign Language on-site contract interpreters to facilitate accurate English‑ASL interpretation at assigned sites.

Responsibilities include consecutive interpretation, remote interpretation when applicable, adherence to professional standards, privacy and confidentiality, and travel to assignments as needed. Independent contractor arrangement; extensive interpreter credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Professional proficiency in English and American Sign Language.
• Ability to accurately provide interpretation between English and American Sign Language.
• State-specific ASL interpreting license where applicable.
• One or more years of professional interpreting experience.
• Relevant interpreter training, credentials, or certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and professional consecutive interpretation between English and American Sign Language during onsite assignments.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable.
• Follow interpreter protocols, professional standards, and client requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy, security, and data-protection requirements.
• Interact professionally with clients, patients, and participants.
• Maintain subject-matter knowledge to perform assignments accurately.
