Job summary

Propio Language Services is seeking on-site contract interpreters in the Hartford area to provide accurate consecutive interpretation between English and multiple languages. This role supports healthcare, education, government, and other settings, with remote interpretation when applicable.

Applicants should have professional interpreting experience, language proficiency in English and others, and the ability to travel to assignments.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Professional proficiency in English and All Spoken Languages.
• Ability to provide consecutive interpretation.
• Successful completion of language proficiency evaluations.
• Submission of a current résumé in English during the application process.
• Ability to reliably travel to and from accepted onsite assignments.
• Background checks may be required for certain assignments depending on client/site requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and professional consecutive interpretation between English and All Spoken Languages during onsite assignments.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable to an accepted assignment.
• Follow interpreter protocols, professional standards, and client requirements.
• Comply with Propio and client requirements relating to interpreter ethics, confidentiality, privacy, security, and assignment protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy, security, and data-protection requirements including HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA as appropriate.
• Maintain professional interactions with clients, patients, customers, visitors, healthcare professionals, and other participants.
