Job description

At Wyze, we make smart home technology accessible to everyone. We're known for disrupting markets with high-quality, affordable products - from cameras to lighting to sensors and more. We believe technology should simplify life, not complicate it. We’re a fast-moving, customer-obsessed team driven by curiosity and powered by data.

The Opportunity

As we continue to grow, we're seeking an experienced Contract HR Generalist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys wearing multiple hats across the employee lifecycle. This is a highly diverse role – combining HR Business Partner support, HR Operations, immigration administration, people analytics, and HR systems administration. We need a versatile individual excited about moving across this spectrum to deliver an exceptional employee experience.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable advising managers, improving operational processes, managing sensitive employee matters, producing insightful reporting, and administering HR technology. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, driving efficiency, and building scalable people practices in a fast-paced, startup environment.

You’ll work onsite in our Kirkland office three days a week supporting our US based employees. This is a contract role expected to last ~6 months.

What You’ll Do
HR Operations
  • Execute and continuously improve core HR operational processes with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and employee experience.
  • Administration of employee leave requests, such as FMLA, state and local protected leaves, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and other leave requests in partnership with employees, managers, payroll, and third-party leave administrators.
  • Maintain employee records and new hire compliance (1-9 administration/E-Verify) and ensure data integrity across HR systems.
  • Support audits, compliance reporting, policy administration, and employment documentation.
  • Develop and document scalable HR processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Partner with Payroll, Finance, IT, and Legal to ensure seamless cross-functional operations.
Immigration Administration
  • Coordinate employment-based immigration processes with outside immigration counsel.
  • Track visa timelines, renewals, work authorization, and compliance requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers throughout the immigration process.
  • Maintain accurate immigration records and reporting.
People Analytics & Reporting
  • Build recurring and ad hoc reports that provide insights into workforce trends and People metrics.
  • Analyze data related to headcount, attrition, hiring, performance, engagement, compensation and other workforce metrics.
  • Create dashboards that enable leaders to make informed decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality and reporting automation.
HR Systems (Rippling)
  • Serve as a functional administrator for Rippling.
  • Configure workflows, approvals, onboarding, offboarding, document management, and system automations.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and partner with vendors when needed.
  • Recommend system enhancements that improve efficiency and employee experience.
  • Support implementation of new HR technology, data migration, and process improvements.
HR Business Partnership
  • Partner with managers on employee relations, performance management, coaching, organizational changes, and policy interpretation.
  • Support managers through the employee lifecycle including onboarding, promotions, transfers, leaves of absence, and offboarding.
  • Coach managers on effective leadership, feedback, documentation, and employee development.
  • Help implement People programs including performance reviews, compensation cycles, engagement initiatives, and talent planning.
  • Navigate complex employee relations matters appropriately while maintaining confidentiality and sound judgment.
  • Guide managers through performance management, disciplinary actions, and employee relations matters, ensuring consistent application of company policies and employment laws.
  • Coordinate and administer involuntary and voluntary separations, including terminations, reductions in force, exit documentation, final pay coordination, severance administration, and exit interviews while ensuring legal compliance and a respectful employee experience.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to employee relations, investigations, leave administration, and employment actions while safeguarding confidential information.
What You’ll Bring
  • 5–8 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Experience supporting managers as an HR Business Partner, HR Generalist or HR Ops.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. employment law and HR best practices.
  • Experience administering employment-based immigration programs.
  • Advanced experience with HRIS platforms, preferably Rippling.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience creating HR reports and dashboards.
  • Experience handling confidential employee matters with professionalism and discretion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting technology or high-growth startup organizations.
  • Experience partnering with distributed teams.
  • Experience supporting annual performance and compensation cycles.
  • Experience with HR process automation and workflow design, experience automating and streamlining work processes using AI or other technology.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
