ArborMetrics Solutions, LLC is seeking a Contract Forestry Specialist to join our field team in the utility vegetation management space. The role involves outdoor patrols, site reviews for habitats, and coordination with landowners to plan vegetation work.

You will perform pre-patrol prep, field patrols, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with industry standards. A degree in forestry or natural resources and 3+ years in the utility V&M industry are preferred; bilingual ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years’ experience in the utility vegetation management industry.
• Knowledge of tree identification.
• Knowledge of common computer applications and ability to learn new programs.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Experience with GIS software/technology and Microsoft Suite and an iPhone.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Patrol Preparation: Review work sites for endangered species, habitats, and vegetation; organize records and maps; maintain documentation.
• Field Patrol Duties: Patrol energy corridors, identify vegetation for pruning/removal/protection; conduct Tree Risk Assessments; mark vegetation and prescribe clearance actions.
• Landowner & Stakeholder Engagement: Identify property boundaries; communicate work plans; obtain permissions; provide customer service.
• Vegetation Management & Compliance: Recommend sustainable strategies using IVM; audit contractor work; investigate outages; address service issues.
• Coordination & Safety: Coordinate non-routine work with stakeholders; report safety concerns; follow safety protocols; travel to work areas.
• Additional Responsibilities: Participate in storm and emergency response; perform other duties.
