Job summary

OMNIPLEX World Services Corporation is seeking Contract Investigators to fill immediate and upcoming openings. Positions are on an as-needed basis with no guaranteed hours. A minimum availability of ten hours per week is preferred, and travel within a 35–50 mile radius from the city location is expected.

Candidate must be local to Waynesville, NC and able to travel by car or plane for temporary duty assignments. Prior background investigative experience and security clearances are highly valued.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of specialized Federal Background investigative experience within the last 5 years.
• Must have some FIS Experience.
• Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and satisfactory driving record.
• Willing to travel on temporary duty assignments as needed (by car or plane).
• Successfully pass background checks and all required training.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret guidelines and instructions.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
• Ability to work in a MS Windows based operating environment, including MS Office.
• Current (within last 2 years) SSBI or active Secret level security clearance based on an SSBI and able to obtain the required security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person, one-on-one subject interviews to obtain factual information about background and character.
• Obtain factual information from various sources to produce an investigation report.
• Travel to conduct investigations at various places of employment, residence, and education.
• Willing to travel 30-50 miles within the geographic area as needed.
• Engage with managers and government representatives to develop working relationships.
• Adapt to changing situations and interact with diverse people.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communications and professional demeanor.
• Workload based on availability of cases in geographic area.
• Some voluntary 2–4 week TDY assignments in other areas of the country.
• Other duties as required.
