Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing seeks a School Social Worker to support two elementary schools in Michigan during a maternity leave, from early November through the end of December 2026, on a full-time 37.5-hour week. The role focuses on counseling, crisis intervention, and collaboration with teachers and families to support student well-being.

You will work with staff to assess needs, participate in IEP/504 planning meetings, and help design targeted interventions that foster academic and emotional growth for

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work from an accredited program.
• Active state licensure or certification as a school social worker.
• Experience supporting elementary-aged children in a school setting.
• Strong counseling, crisis intervention and case management skills.
• Familiarity with IEPs, 504 plans and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Empathetic demeanor with an organized, proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group counseling for students.
• Address a range of social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff and families to design interventions.
• Conduct assessments to determine student needs.
