Job summary

Neal R. Gross and Co. is seeking experienced Court Reporters to work on a contract basis at client sites nationwide, including government assignments.

You will take down proceedings using machine shorthand, voice, or digital capture, transporting and operating equipment to capture the record accurately. Candidates should have at least 1 year of court reporting experience, pass security screening, and be highly organized with excellent English and technical skills.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience as a Court Reporter.
• Pass security screening for access to client sites.
• Proficient with technology and excellent English language skills.
• Attention to detail and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Take down the proceeding using Machine Shorthand, Voice, or Digital capture.
• Capture verbatim proceedings of courts, meetings, depositions, and hearings.
• Administer oaths and participate in depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
• Transport, set up, and operate equipment to capture the record accurately.
• Perform advance preparation for assignments, including building job worksheets and reviewing case information.
• Ensure all exhibits are secured and files are backed up and uploaded after proceedings.
• Maintain reports and logs and respond promptly to communications.
• Represent the company professionally in all proceedings and interactions.
• Interact with high-level clients (Federal Govt, State Govt, Private Industry).
