Job summary

Neal R. Gross and Co. is seeking experienced Court Reporters for on-site, contract assignments across local client sites. You will take down proceedings using machine shorthand or digital capture and ensure accurate, verbatim records for courts, meetings, and depositions.

Candidate must have 1+ year of court reporting experience, strong attention to detail, reliability, and excellent English. Prior certification (NCRA/AAERT/NVRA) preferred, and ability to pass security screening is required.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience as a Court Reporter; no training provided.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability; punctual and deadline-oriented.
• Excellent English language skills; able to pass security screening.

Responsibilities

• Take down proceedings using Machine Shorthand, Voice, or Digital capture.
• Capture verbatim proceedings of courts, meetings, depositions, and hearings.
• Administer oaths and participate in depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
• Transport, set up, and operate equipment to capture the record accurately.
• Perform advance preparation for assignments, including building worksheets and reviewing case information.
• Ensure all exhibits are secured, proper file backups are performed, and required worksheets are completed and uploaded at the close of the proceeding.
• Maintain all required reports and logs and respond promptly to communications.
• Represent Neal R. Gross & Co professionally in all proceedings and interactions.
• Interact with high-level clients (Federal Govt, State Govt, Private Industry).
