Job summary

Neal R. Gross and Co. is seeking experienced Court Reporters to visit client sites in their local area on a contract basis.

You will use machine shorthand, voice, or digital capture to create verbatim records for courts, meetings, depositions, and hearings. Responsibilities include administering oaths, transporting and operating equipment, preparing job worksheets, securing exhibits, generating required worksheets, and maintaining reports and logs.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of Court Reporter experience
• Strong attention to detail and reliability
• Proficiency with technology and ability to pass security screening for access to client sites

Responsibilities

• Takes down the proceeding using machine shorthand, voice, or digital capture
• Capture verbatim proceedings of courts, meetings, depositions, and hearings
• Administer oaths and participate in depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings
• Transport, set up, and operate equipment to capture the record accurately
• Perform advance preparation for assignments, including building job worksheets and reviewing case information
• Ensure all exhibits are secured, backups are performed, and worksheets uploaded at close
• Maintain reports and logs and respond promptly to communications
• Represent Neal R. Gross and Co. professionally in all proceedings
• Interact with high-level clients (Federal Govt, State Govt, Private Industry)
