Job summary

TalentBurst, Inc. is seeking a Contract Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse for an onsite 13-week assignment in San Antonio, TX.

The PICU RN will cover night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) with 12-hour days, three days per week, caring for critically ill pediatric patients with cardiac history and ECMO/CRRT exposure is preferred. Requirements include RN license and BLS/PALS certifications, ICU/PICU experience, and Meditech EMR familiarity.

Qualifications

• Intubation and ventilation support in PICU.
• ICU-level care for pediatric patients with cardiac history.
• BLS and PALS certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Care for PICU patients during night shift.
• Collaborate with medical team for critical care.
• Maintain documentation in Meditech EMR.

o Day Shift – 1 charge, 5-6 RN (dependent on census), 1 UC
o Night Shift - 1 charge, 5-6 RN (dependent on census), 1 UC
Patient Ratios – 2:1, 1:1 if higher acuity and 3:1 for lower, step-down acuity
Type of equipment – vents, drips, chest tubes, central lines, syringe pumps, trachs, GT
EMR -Meditech
Typical hiring profile
Skill Set Most recruited for: In the PICU at MCH, we admit all ICU level of care patients to include every body system. Respiratory, neuro, GI, GU, plastics, burns, DKA, medically sick patients with a cardiac history, ortho, ENT, etc
Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
Intubated/vents experience
ICU level of care experience patients
Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.
ECMO experience (taking care of pt, not the pump)
CRRT experience
