Job summary

Russell Tobin is seeking a Document Control Support professional in Fremont, CA, for a 12-month contract with potential extensions or conversion to full-time. The role focuses on maintaining and distributing architectural, engineering, and facility documentation, with heavy AutoCAD use and strict adherence to standards.

The candidate will manage CAD drawings, ensure accuracy, and support multiple teams across construction, facilities, and manufacturing environments in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience as an AutoCAD Designer/Drafter or in a similar document control/drafting role.
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD, including CAD standards and layer management.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work with architectural and engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy; excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain site plans and building drawings across electrical, mechanical, piping, P&ID, and related systems.
• Manage centralized document repositories for secure organization and accessibility.
• Provide requested information to internal stakeholders from document repositories.
• Update CAD drawings with field changes and as-built documentation.
• Follow document control procedures for creation, revision, approval, storage, and distribution of controlled documents.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, Facilities, Manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to resolve documentation issues.
