Job summary

Qualifications

• JD and TN Bar license in good standing required.
• At least 1 year of relevant legal experience preferred.
• Must have professional liability insurance prior to start date.
• Contract role not eligible for state employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Represent the department in administrative law cases before health-related boards.
• Review complaints and investigations involving healthcare licensees in Tennessee's rural counties.
• Provide legal support for department investigators and licensing board consultants.
• Handle all aspects of litigation for cases where formal discipline is warranted, including discovery, motions, and trials.
• Manage a robust caseload across various phases of litigation.
• Assist with legislative projects, including bill analysis.
