Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Assistant Distribution Designer in Kansas City, MO (onsite).

This 12+ month contract role offers hourly pay between $32 and $37 and a benefits package including health insurance, 401(k), and paid sick leave. You will assist licensed engineers on 2.4kV to 34.5kV distribution projects, support design from concept to completion, prepare BOMs and cost estimates, perform voltage drop and pole loading calculations, and ensure compliance with

Qualifications

• College Degree in CAD Design/Drafting or related technology field with 3+ years of design/drafting experience in Electric Utility/T&D/OH or UG Distribution Design.
• Experience with AutoCAD and familiarity with GIS and Distribution Systems.
• Bachelor or Associate degree requirements with years as stated, or 4 years progressive detailing and design experience.
• 2+ years of experience, preferably in utility or power industry.
• Basic distribution design software experience preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD software, GIS software, and other design tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist project teams to create designs for 2.4kV to 34.5kV projects.
• Work with the project team through design and construction, adapting plans to budget and client needs.
• Assist in the design of distribution projects from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Prepare design sketches, cost estimates, bill of materials, and other required deliverables.
• Perform distribution calculations, including voltage drop and pole loading.
• Apply basic knowledge of NESC standards and utility standards, guides, specifications, and procedures.
• Assist with research and compile project data as required by project managers.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to meet objectives and deadlines.
