Under the supervision of the Contract Manager, the Contract Analyst I serves as a first journey-level subject matter expert responsible for supporting the agency’s contracting program. The incumbent collaborates with program staff, legal staff, attorneys, and external stakeholders to ensure the effective administration of contracts and grants. As a member of the contracts oversight team, the Contract Analyst I performs analytical work, including researching and resolving contract-related issues, recommending and implementing solutions, reviewing Chancellor’s Office procedures and processes, and monitoring contract and grant agreements. The incumbent serves as the primary point of contact for the OGC and provides consultation on technical contract and purchase order matters.

The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on the Chancellor’s Office’s evolving telework policy. The Chancellor’s Office supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to the headquarters office in Sacramento if an urgent need arises.

2. Contract analysts prepare reports, correspondence, and contract documents. Describe your experience preparing professional written materials and ensuring their accuracy.
3. Describe a situation where you worked with multiple stakeholders to complete a project or achieve a common goal. What was your role, and what was the outcome?
