Job summary

Roskam Foods, a long-standing contract manufacturer headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is seeking a seasoned Continuous Improvement professional to lead enterprise-wide Lean and Six Sigma projects. You will partner with multiple business units to optimize processes, coach teams, and deliver measurable cost and efficiency gains.

Founded in 1923, Roskam Foods spans 2M+ sq ft across 8 U.S. and Canada facilities, offering medical, dental, vision, tuition reimbursement, life and disability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, operations, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in continuous improvement or process engineering.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma and CI tools.
• Partner with business units to identify process optimization opportunities.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement actionable solutions.
• Train and coach staff on CI methodologies and tools.
• Monitor project outcomes including cost savings and productivity gains.
• Support standard work, visual management, and performance metrics.
• Promote continuous improvement culture with effective communication.
• Collaborate with leadership to align CI initiatives with KPIs.

Key Essential Functions/Duties

• Facilitate and lead improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI tools.
• Partner with business units to identify opportunities for process optimization and waste reduction.
• Conduct root cause analysis and develop actionable solutions to address performance gaps.
• Train and coach employees at all levels on CI methodologies and tools.
• Monitor and report on project outcomes, including cost savings, productivity gains, and quality improvements.
• Support the development and deployment of standard work, visual management, and performance metrics.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement through engagement, communication, and recognition.
• Collaborate with leadership to align CI initiatives with strategic goals and KPIs.
• Maintain documentation and ensure sustainability of implemented improvements.

Education/Experience/Skills/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Operations, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in continuous improvement, operational excellence, or process engineering.
• Certification in Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent facilitation, coaching, and communication abilities.
• Experience with CI tools such as value stream mapping, Kaizen, 5S, DMAIC, and PDCA.
• Proficiency in data analysis and project management software.
