Continuous Improvement Manager-Warehouse Automation

Overview

The Continuous Improvement Manager-Warehouse Automation will be responsible for developing and managing the automation strategy within our warehouse facilities. This role requires a strong leader capable of overseeing projects from conception through implementation, ensuring continuous improvement in warehouse operations through advanced technical solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in warehouse automation, project management, and a collaborative approach to teamwork.

Responsibilities
  • Strategy Development: Design and implement automation strategies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reduce costs.
  • Project Management: Lead automation projects from planning to execution, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and train automation specialists and engineers, oversee performance, and support professional development.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with IT, operations, and logistics to define requirements and identify automation solutions.
  • Vendor Relations: Engage with technology vendors, assess and select automation technologies, and manage contracts.
  • Performance Monitoring: Analyze system performance, using data to drive improvements and meet KPIs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance warehouse productivity.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies; ensure timely repairs of equipment.
  • System Knowledge: Troubleshoot onsite systems (controls, WES, WMS) and support escalation tickets.
  • Software Usage: Experience with CMMS software like MaintainX and vendor systems such as JBT, AGVs, Swisslog WES, and CDLR conveyor systems.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to OSHA and safety regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of warehouse operations experience, with 1-3 years in leadership focused on automation.
  • Experience with AGV systems is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of WMS and automated technologies (e.g., Manhattan, robotics, conveyors).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong managerial skills and ability to work under pressure.
