What You Need to Know

The Quality Improvement Specialist is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and conducting in-depth reviews of key quality metrics foundational to AccentCare's ability to deliver high-quality, safe care to our patients and achieve progress on the Hospice Quality Reporting Program. Ensures compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards. This position is a member of the quality management team and provides expertise in quality improvement, performance improvement, and change management. They promote commitment to corporate and subsidiary standards, policies, and procedures while teaching, coaching, and consulting on measure development, methodology, goal setting, data analysis (including root cause and risk assessment), problem solving, corrective action, and evaluating the effectiveness of actions taken. The role guides leaders through project work, facilitation, consultation, coaching, skill-building/training, and reporting in a complex community-based healthcare environment. They work closely with teams in Quality, Clinical Operations, and Compliance departments, supporting root cause analysis, safety event facilitation, and coaching teams on implementing change. They promote a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, and are committed to decreasing systemic healthcare disparities.

  • Assist agencies in maintaining standardized clinical documentation procedures to ensure impartial surveys, clinical audits, and reviews, and determine metrics for evaluating success and monitoring agency performance.
  • Teach, coach, and consult to promote adherence to legal requirements, standards, and organizational policies.
  • Demonstrate effective strategies for healthcare accreditation and program compliance.
  • Apply project management fundamentals to drive improvement projects from problem identification to intervention and monitoring.

Qualifications
Be the Best Area Hospice Quality Specialist You Can Be

If you meet these qualifications, we want to meet you!

  • Hold a healthcare license (e.g., nurse, physician, social worker)
  • Certification or advanced education in Healthcare Quality or relevant experience in performance improvement and regulatory standards
  • Minimum 5 years of healthcare experience
  • Minimum 2 years of Hospice or Home Health experience
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards for home health and/or hospice industry
  • Strong knowledge of quality/performance improvement processes and tools
  • Systems knowledge with experience in root cause analysis and developing reliable, safe systems/processes
  • Effective communication with staff at all organizational levels
  • Strong project and process management skills
  • Ability to create complex documents, analysis models, and graphics
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
  • Leadership in group discussions with clinicians, administrators, and stakeholders
Required Certifications and Licenses
  • Healthcare license (e.g., nurse, physician, social worker)
  • Certification or advanced education in Healthcare Quality or relevant experience
