Job summary

Jayco Inc in Indiana is seeking a Continuous Improvement professional to drive lean initiatives, optimize manufacturing processes, and deliver cost reductions.

You will lead CI projects, mentor technicians, collaborate with Operations, and coordinate with suppliers to sustain improvements across the plant. This role requires hands-on data analysis, strong communication, and a willingness to travel between field locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Industrial/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or Project Management with manufacturing focus.
• Minimum 3 years LEAN experience with tools (VSM, 6S, Problem Solving, 8 Waste, SMED).
• Minimum 2 years leading teams and people.
• Experience leading CI projects in a manufacturing setting; RV manufacturing background preferred.

Job description

Purpose:

This position exists to optimize processes through analyzing data for a wide variety of projects throughout the business ensuring safety, efficiency, and reliability at a competitive cost.

Essential Functions:

• Lead continuous improvement projects, events, and training to support business operations.
• Facilitate the creation of solutions along with Operations to improve the flow of processes.
• Lead Kaizen events and projects to support company goals and objectives.
• Embrace continuous improvement initiatives; cost reductions, quality, and manufacturability improvements.
• Work with suppliers and vendors to support LEAN manufacturing projects and initiatives.
• Follow Jayco lean standards and be a culture change agent.

Experience/ Knowledge:

• Preferred (not required) Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or in Project Management with manufacturing processes/technology, quality assurance & overall manufacturing operations focus.
• Requires a minimum of 3 year of experience with LEAN practices and projects utilizing the following LEAN tools
  • VSM
  • 6S
  • Problem Solving
  • 8 Waste
  • SMED
• Requires a minimum of 2 year of experience leading teams and people
• Demonstrated successful project management experience in a manufacturing setting is required.
• Prefer a background in an RV manufacturing or assembly environment.

Necessary Skills & Abilities:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
• Prefer experience operating AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, or similar software.
• Problem solver mindset for creating solutions and bettering processes for overall efficiencies.
• Ability to work both independently and lead in a team environment.
• Monitoring, evaluation, and time management skills to track people and process improvements.
• Strong technical communication skills are required.
• Ability to solve complex problems through data analysis.
• Ability to use good judgment in making decisions or recommendations.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in interactions with all organizational departments and functional teams.
• Demonstrate a commitment to LEAN practices and sustaining improvements to processes, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Work Requirements:

• This position may require sitting, standing, working in front of a computer monitor in an office setting approximately 50% of the day, and collecting data from a production environment approximately 50% of the day.
• Requires ability to travel between field locations.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, or crouch; use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds.
• This position is a full-time position, which may require some flexibility in hours & days worked (including Saturdays, as needed).
• Regular attendance is required.
• Supervisory responsibilities may include managing CI Technicians and Specialist.
• Remote work: not available.
