Job summary

Jayco is seeking a CI/Lean professional to optimize processes across manufacturing operations. You will lead continuous improvement projects, analyze data, and drive cost reductions while improving safety, quality, and reliability.

The role requires 3+ years in LEAN with tools like VSM, 6S, SMED, and experience leading teams in a manufacturing setting. RV manufacturing background preferred. This is a full-time, on-site position in Indiana with opportunities to mentor CI Technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or Project Management with manufacturing focus.
• Minimum 3 years experience with LEAN tools (VSM, 6S, Problem Solving, 8 Waste, SMED).
• Minimum 2 years leading teams/people; demonstrated project management in manufacturing."
• RV manufacturing or assembly background preferred.

Job description

Purpose:

This position exists to optimize processes through analyzing data for a wide variety of projects throughout the business ensuring safety, efficiency, and reliability at a competitive cost.

Essential Functions:

• Lead continuous improvement projects, events, and training to support business operations.
• Facilitate the creation of solutions along with Operations to improve the flow of processes.
• Lead Kaizen events and projects to support company goals and objectives.
• Embrace continuous improvement initiatives; cost reductions, quality, and manufacturability improvements.
• Work with suppliers and vendors to support LEAN manufacturing projects and initiatives.
• Follow Jayco lean standards and be a culture change agent.

Experience/ Knowledge:

• Preferred (not required) Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or in Project Management with manufacturing processes/technology, quality assurance & overall manufacturing operations focus.
• Requires a minimum of 3 year of experience with LEAN practices and projects utilizing the following LEAN tools
  • VSM
  • 6S
  • Problem Solving
  • 8 Waste
  • SMED
• Requires a minimum of 2 year of experience leading teams and people
• Demonstrated successful project management experience in a manufacturing setting is required.
• Prefer a background in an RV manufacturing or assembly environment.

Necessary Skills & Abilities:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
• Prefer experience operating AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, or similar software.
• Problem solver mindset for creating solutions and bettering processes for overall efficiencies.
• Ability to work both independently and lead in a team environment.
• Monitoring, evaluation, and time management skills to track people and process improvements.
• Strong technical communication skills are required.
• Ability to solve complex problems through data analysis.
• Ability to use good judgment in making decisions or recommendations.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in interactions with all organizational departments and functional teams.
• Demonstrate a commitment to LEAN practices and sustaining improvements to processes, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Work Requirements:

• This position may require sitting, standing, working in front of a computer monitor in an office setting approximately 50% of the day, and collecting data from a production environment approximately 50% of the day.
• Requires ability to travel between field locations.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, or crouch; use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds.
• This position is a full-time position, which may require some flexibility in hours & days worked (including Saturdays, as needed).
• Regular attendance is required.
• Supervisory responsibilities may include managing CI Technicians and Specialist.
• Remote work: not available.
