Werner Co. is hiring an Operations Excellence Engineer at our Crystal Lake, Illinois facility.

The role leads CI projects to boost efficiency and reduce waste, coordinating teams and using data-driven insights to improve operations. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Mechatronics/Automation Engineering with 7+ years in automated process improvements, TPS/Lean, ISO9001 audits, and strong problem-solving using DMAIC and FMEA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics or Automation Engineering; 7+ years senior experience in automated process improvements in manufacturing.
• Experience with Lean/TPS principles and continuous improvement.
• Experience with ISO9001:2015 audits and cost impact assessment.
• Proficient in DMAIC, line balancing or work leveling; strong problem-solving methods.
• FMEA, poka-yoke, and data-driven decision making are required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize strategic improvement opportunities in existing manufacturing processes.
• Develop and execute plans to drive efficiency and reduce waste.
• Coordinate meetings, delegate tasks, and communicate progress to the team.
• Use advanced data analysis to uncover trends and provide insights.
• Create reports with actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Promote data-driven culture and drive innovation in processes.
• Conduct workshops to engage staff in problem solving.
• Provide training on process changes to employees.
• Oversee a portfolio of improvement projects aligning with strategic goals.
• Lead internal ISO9001:2015 audits and support quality management.
• Supervise six direct reports including CI coordinator and automation/manufacturing engineers.
