Job summary

Green Bay Packaging is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer Intern to support Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI initiatives across our operations in Green Bay, WI. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to apply data-driven improvements that enhance productivity, quality, and safety while learning standard work, process mapping, and performance measurement.

Position Overview

The Continuous Improvement Engineer Intern supports initiatives focused on enhancing operational performance, quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness across the organization. This role provides hands-on experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive sustainable process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying, analyzing, and implementing process improvement opportunities that improve productivity, quality, safety, and operational performance.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, measure performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and value stream mapping activities to eliminate waste and optimize business processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to implement and sustain process improvements.
• Develop and maintain project documentation, process maps, standard work instructions, performance metrics, and reports while supporting root cause analysis and corrective action activities.

Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills required. Experience with Microsoft Excel, data analysis tools, and Lean/Six Sigma concepts is preferred.
