Job summary

Green Bay Packaging is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to support the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. You will work with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, troubleshoot production challenges, and contribute to operational excellence initiatives.

The internship emphasizes hands-on learning in quality, safety, efficiency, and productivity, with exposure to data collection, analysis, and documentation of engineering

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical, industrial, or related field.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills required.
  • Experience with Excel, CAD, data analysis tools, and Lean Manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in evaluating processes, workflows, and equipment for efficiency, quality, and cost improvements.
  • Collect, analyze, and report production data to support optimization and capacity planning.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations to implement enhancements.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of production issues and equipment performance.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, work instructions, process flows, and SOPs.

Job description

Position Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer Intern supports the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to enhance quality, safety, efficiency, and productivity. This role provides hands-on experience working with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, troubleshoot production challenges, and support operational excellence initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in evaluating manufacturing processes, workflows, and equipment to identify opportunities for efficiency, quality, and cost improvements.
  • Collect, analyze, and report production data to support process optimization, capacity planning, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to implement and sustain process enhancements.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities related to production issues, equipment performance, and product quality concerns.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including work instructions, process flows, standard operating procedures, and project reports.
Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related technical field. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills required. Experience with Microsoft Excel, CAD software, data analysis tools, and Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred.
