Job description

PITT OHIO, a $900 million, high service, highly profitable transportation solutions provider offering SUPPLY CHAIN, LTL, and TRUCKLOAD services is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our team at our Corporate office in Pittsburgh, PA.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to organizational processes and methods
  • Collect and analyze data to support process improvement initiatives
  • Execute Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement
  • Develop and maintain process documentation to support process improvement
  • Train and mentor staff on new process changes and initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions are implemented and corporate wide improvements are realized
  • Develop strategies and plans to assure sustainability of improvements
  • Monitor and report progress on projects and performance to senior management
  • Travel to terminals in the network to observe operations and recommend improvements
  • Implement strategies and tactics to increase driver and dock productivity and increase operational efficiency
  • Support the other Engineers in the department
  • Remain flexible to additional responsibilities as required; react to change effectively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
Other Duties
  • Maintain and create PowerBI KPI reports for Upper Management
  • Collaborate with Operations and IT to test different technological solutions
  • Support terminal personnel when issues arise
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or another Engineering/Technical related discipline
  • Proven experience in process improvement, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in data analysis and process improvement tools
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement
  • Must be competent and proficient in Microsoft Office Software products
  • Knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI or another Business Intelligence software
  • Experience with SQL and Snowflake are a plus
  • 0 – 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Previous Transportation or Logistics experience is a plus
  • Fluent command in the English language is required to efficiently communicate with internal and external customers
