Job description

Join to apply for the Laboratory Research Technician III role at University of Pittsburgh.

This position involves performing a variety of independent laboratory work and experiments, including determining experimental protocols, preparing specimens and cultures, and developing documentation for publication such as manuscripts and grant proposals.

Essential Functions
  1. Perform, analyze, and interpret mammalian cell culture and molecular biology experiments, including cell passaging, western blotting, extracellular vesicle isolation, multiplex assays, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, processing human tumor specimens and liver cells, and operating organ-on-a-chip systems.
  2. Conduct experiments with mice, including preparing cancer cells and treatments for injections, assisting with injections, monitoring mice, and performing end-point surgeries.
  3. Apply strong basic mathematical skills such as dilutions, ratios, and molarity.
  4. Demonstrate strong organization, communication, and planning skills.
Physical Effort

This role is primarily sedentary but may involve walking between laboratories.
