Job Description:

Continuous Improvement Engineer - Columbus, OH Onsite

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer is responsible for process results in a Production Area, operating on a 24-hour, multi-shift basis. This role is essential in the FMOS implementation, managing technology for primary manufacturing systems. The CI Engineer collaborates with the Shift Manager to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement by establishing work standards, coaching associates, and supporting FMOS Connection Points. They focus on improving Line Event Data Systems and documenting operation standards to reduce unplanned downtime and streamline equipment performance.

What are we looking for?

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical discipline, or current pursuit of one.

Preferred:

  • At least 2 years of people leadership experience.
Knowledge / Experience:
  • 3+ years in a Continuous Improvement Manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lead and engage teams.
  • Experience in leading change and situational leadership.
  • Strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and SAP.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Daily Management Systems (DMS) execution, including Changeover, Centerlines, CIL, and Abnormality Handling.
  • Lead Daily Area Value Stream connection meetings.
  • Analyze performance data and integrate findings into FMOS.
  • Drive loss elimination initiatives, including Line Loss Analysis and 90-day action plans.
  • Lead Autonomous Maintenance teams to reduce downtime.
  • Support and coach Pillar activities with analytics and standards development.
  • Assist Shift Managers in team performance management through coaching.
  • Provide direction to Continuous Improvement Specialists, including development and evaluations.
  • Support Commission, Validation, Startup (CVS) activities for capital projects.
  • Champion MSE AM deployment and uphold Safety and Quality standards.
  • Follow up on technical breakdowns, escalating issues as needed.
  • Provide technical support for complex problem solving and FI Pillar activities.
