Job summary

MCVSD Continuing Education seeks a part-time HVAC-R instructor licensed in New Jersey to teach adults in our apprenticeship program. You will cover troubleshooting, fluid handling, and IAQ concepts across on-campus and online evenings, contributing to about 100 sessions per year from September to June.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years in HVAC design/repair, teaching experience, strong technical communication, and refrigerant-handling licenses (608, 410A, etc).

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of design, repair, or installation experience in residential/commercial HVAC systems.
• Teaching experience is preferred.
• Excellent written and technical communication skills.
• Experience with ESCO training materials and Job Readiness exams is preferred.
• Licensed in refrigerant handling (608, 410A, etc).

Responsibilities

• Instruct adults enrolled in the registered training program for apprenticeship.
• Teach concepts such as troubleshooting systems and components and fluid handling.
• Deliver sessions on campus two evenings and one online evening per week.
• Coordinate instruction to cover approximately 100 sessions per year (Sept–June).

DESCRIPTION

MCVSD Continuing Education department has an anticipated opening for a part-time Continuing Education HVAC-R Instructor who is a NJ Licensed HVAC technician to instruct adults enrolled in our registered training program for apprenticeship. The course content includes concepts such as troubleshooting systems and components, concepts of fluid handling; cooling towers and indoor air quality. Classes meet on campus two evenings and one evening online during the week for 3hours per session for a total of 100 sessions per year September - June.

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 5-10 years employment experience in design, repair, installation of residential/commercial HVAC systems is required.
• Teaching experience (preferred)
• Excellent written and technical communication skills
• Experience with ESCO training materials and Job Readiness exams (preferred)
• Licensed in refrigerant handling (608, 410A, etc)

COMPENSATION

$40.00 per hour; benefits n/a
