Job summary

Morris County Vocational School District has an anticipated opening for a part-time HVAC Apprentice Instructor for the 2026-27 academic year. The chosen candidate will instruct adults in our registered apprenticeship program and cover essential HVAC systems and troubleshooting skills.

Classes consist of both evening meetings on campus and online sessions. Required qualifications include extensive experience in HVAC design and repair, teaching skills are preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• At least 5–10 years of employment experience in design, repair, and installation of residential/commercial HVAC systems.
• Teaching experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Instruct adults in HVAC apprenticeship program.
• Teach course content, including troubleshooting and fluid handling.
• Conduct classes both online and on campus.

Description

MCVSD Continuing Education department has an anticipated opening for a part‑time Continuing Education HVAC‑R Instructor who is a NJ licensed HVAC technician to instruct adults enrolled in our registered apprenticeship program.

The course content includes troubleshooting systems and components, concepts of fluid handling, cooling towers, and indoor air quality.

Classes meet on campus twice in the evening and once online each week for 3 hours per session, totaling 100 sessions per year from September through June.

Qualifications

• At least 5–10 years of employment experience in design, repair, and installation of residential/commercial HVAC systems.
• Teaching experience (preferred).
• Excellent written and technical communication skills.
• Experience with ESCO training materials and Job Readiness exams (preferred).
• Licensed in refrigerant handling (608, 410A, etc.).
