Job summary

Merit is hiring a Contents Technician to perform hands-on packing, cleaning, and restoration of customer contents affected by fire, water, or other covered losses. You will document and inventory belongings from pack-out through final return, maintaining photographs, itemized records, and disposition notes.

You will communicate with customers with care and professionalism, inspect completed work for quality, and support the contents processing facility and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with a preference for related certifications.
• Basic math and computer skills needed to determine equipment needs.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and records.
• Effective communication with customers in stressful situations.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Pack, document, and inventory customer contents at the time of pack-out.
• Wrap, label, and transport contents to the cleaning facility for processing.
• Inspect work quality and ensure proper restoration before return.
• Maintain daily logs and coordinate with Project Managers and Supervisors.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and assist with facility tasks as needed.
