The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Content Tutor to support student-athletes in mastering course content across disciplines. You will conduct one-on-one or small-group tutoring sessions on UT Austin's UT Main Campus and document session notes.

Requirements include clear communication, integrity, NCAA policy adherence, and status as a UT Austin student (full-time). The role is non-exempt, approx. 27 hours/week, with available summer/fall 2026 scheduling.

Responsibilities
  • Assist student-athletes in mastering course-specific subject content by providing supplemental academic support in one-on-one or small-session tutoring appointments.
  • Encourage student-athlete academic success by discussing lecture notes and course texts while guiding them to think critically about course materials.
  • Assist student-athletes in understanding course-specific subject content by answering questions and posing additional questions to encourage a deeper understanding of concepts.
  • Complete brief written tutoring session reports and maintain regular communications with full-time staff.
  • Attend regular trainings as required by the NCAA, Texas Athletics, The University of Texas at Austin, and Student Services.
  • Maintain Academic Integrity in all work with student-athletes, and follow all policies and procedures of The University of Texas at Austin, The NCAA, the Conference, and Student Services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Consistently exemplify the core values and quality service standards of Texas Athletics.
  • Always act ethically.
  • Proactively seek guidance when unsure or unclear of a law, rule or policy applicable to you or your department/sport program.
  • Actively participate in assigned education and training programs.
  • Comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations set forth by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System, The University of Texas at Austin, NCAA, Conference, or other governing body, including state and federal laws.
  • Annually obtain prior written approval and report all outside activities and outside income.
  • Report knowledge of, or reasonable cause to believe, violation(s) of state or federal laws, policies, rules, or regulations of the University, Conference, or NCAA to IA ARMCS or IA HR.
  • Fully cooperate with any investigation by providing complete and accurate information when requested to do so by Texas Athletics and/or the NCAA and do not influence others in any way during an investigation.
  • In compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and Texas Education Code Sec. 51.252, this position may be a Non-Confidential Employee as defined by University policies on Sex Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Interpersonal Violence and Stalking.

Required Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate and graduate students at The University of Texas at Austin must be enrolled full-time (NCAA Requirement)
  • Undergraduate students must have completed two semesters of classes at The University of Texas at Austin before applying
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Tutoring or teaching experience at a University level
Salary Range

$16.00 +/hour depending on qualifications/relevant experience

Work Shift

Summer or Fall 2026 (Rehire eligible based on performance at the end of each academic semester)

Work will be performed in-person, on campus

Flexible between Monday-Thursday from 8 AM – 9:30 PM, Friday from 8 AM – 5 PM and Sunday from 5 PM-9 PM; Weekly hours vary and can be set around class schedule.

Must be available to attend the orientation session at the beginning of the semester

Must be available to attend monthly training sessions

May work evenings and weekends
