Job summary

The Police Athletic League, Inc. in New York City seeks a Content Specialist to elevate PAL’s out-of-school programming across SEL, STEM, literacy, sports, arts, and college readiness.

This part-time role (9 hours weekly, three days, 3 hours daily) reports to the Program Director and requires a bachelor’s degree and at least two years in curriculum development and staff training. Location: New South Bronx Center, Bronx, NY.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Education, Youth Development or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in curriculum development, implementation, observation, training, and coaching.
• Open to learning mental health, SEL, and inclusive programming.
• Able to travel to any PAL location in the five boroughs for professional development.

Responsibilities

• Foster social and emotional competencies and well-being in a safe, inclusive environment.
• Learn PAL curricula and ensure lesson plans meet funder requirements.
• Provide professional development to frontline staff in classroom management and facilitation.
• Observe program implementation and give feedback and coaching.
• Ensure partnerships with NYCPS and PAL align with funding and policies.
• Coordinate with leadership to grow creative programming opportunities.
