Job summary

The Police Athletic League (PAL) of New York City is seeking a Content Specialist to support out-of-school programming across five boroughs. The role reports to the Program Director and requires coordinating with site staff to deliver PAL curricula while upholding funder requirements.

This part-time, 9-hour-per-week position in Bronx offers competitive compensation ($52 per hour) and benefits including health insurance, retirement options, and professional development opportunities; start date

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Education, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of curriculum development, observation, training, coaching, teaching, and supervision experience.
• Willingness to learn mental health, SEL, and inclusion skills and integrate them into programming.
• Strong written and verbal communication; bilingual abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Foster social and emotional competencies and well-being in a safe, inclusive environment.
• Learn PAL curricula and ensure lesson plans meet funder requirements.
• Provide professional development to frontline staff in classroom management, behavior management, and activity implementation.
• Observe and evaluate program implementation and provide staff with feedback and coaching.
• Coordinate with site partners to ensure seamless PAL operations and support students with IEPs and mental health referrals.
• Collect program data, analyze it, and drive recommendations for PAL.
